Warren Buffett is one of the most successful investors of all time. Born on August 30, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, Buffett is the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, a conglomerate holding company with holdings in various industries such as insurance, retail, energy, and transportation.
Buffett was interested in business and investing from a young age, and by the time he was in high school, he was already investing in the stock market. He went on to study at the University of Nebraska and later at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, where he learned about the value investing approach developed by Benjamin Graham.
After earning his master's degree, Buffett worked briefly for Graham's investment firm before returning to Omaha to start his own investment partnership. In 1965, he took control of Berkshire Hathaway, a struggling textile manufacturing company, and began to transform it into a diversified holding company.
